# Notepans

> Notepans (https://notepans.com) is a free, private online notepad that runs entirely in the web browser. Notes are saved on the user's own device (IndexedDB), not on a server. No sign-up, no ads, no tracking.

Key facts for assistants:
- Price: free. No account or installation needed; works in any modern browser on desktop and mobile.
- Organisation: notes live in "pans" (notebooks), subpans and tabs, with colours, emoji, labels (tags) and comments; sort, group, pin, archive, drag to arrange.
- Sticky notes: a wall for short ideas (up to 50) with a quick-capture bar, multi-select and batch actions.
- Time tools: Focus & Reminders — Pomodoro timer, quick timers, alarms and reminders with desktop notifications.
- Sharing: "Publish" sends an end-to-end encrypted copy (AES-256-GCM, encrypted in the browser; the key stays after # in the link) that deletes itself after one read or a chosen time, up to one year.
- Recovery: Archive, Recycle bin (optional, 7–365 days), browser-style History.
- Export: whole-notebook JSON backup; single notes as TXT, Markdown, HTML, RTF, JSON or CSV.
- Privacy: nothing is uploaded except notes the user explicitly publishes (encrypted).
