Yes. Notepans is free to use, with no sign-up, no account and no ads.
In your own web browser (IndexedDB on your device). Notepans does not store your notes on a server. Clearing your browser data clears them too, so download a backup from Settings now and then.
Yes. Publish creates an encrypted copy (AES-256-GCM, encrypted in your browser) with a link. The key is after the # in the link and never reaches the server. The copy deletes itself after one read or after the time you choose — at most one year.
Once the page is open, writing, sticky notes, reminders and timers work in your browser. Publishing a note needs a connection.
No. Notepans runs in any modern browser on desktop, tablet and phone.
Yes — as a JSON backup, Markdown or plain text from Settings, and any single note or the Home pad as TXT, Markdown, HTML, RTF (opens in Word), JSON or CSV.
